This weekend don’t let the rain keep you from getting a FREE fruit tree to plant in L.A.! The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, (LACMA) and the Los Angeles-based artist collective Fallen Fruit,
are handing out 150 fruit trees at noon, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 6 – 7.
The fruit tree adoptions kick off a year-long public participation art exhibition called EATLACMA, that will include artist-designed gardens installed throughout the LACMA grounds, artist-led tours of the gardens, a public fruit jam other events.
Fallen Fruit will hand out 150 trees at the Watts Towers Arts Center and Charles Mingus Youth Arts Center, Saturday and at LACMA’s Grand entrance on Sunday. Plant the trees in a public space or on the perimeter of private property so the local community can enjoy the bounty from the trees.
