If there’s anything I like almost as much as free fun in L.A., it’s frugal fun in Los Angeles! And Bargain Babe’s latest incarnation of her Frugal Fe$tival on Saturday, June 19, is your ticket to frugal fun this summer!
What the heck is a swap you say? Frugal folks bring gently-used clothes, shoes, accessories, DVD/CD/media, and housewares to trade with others at the NoHo Performing Arts Center. Each swapper receives a FREE reusable bag to put their incredible frugal finds in plus a raffle ticket for a chance to win cool stuff like iPods! (You must be present to win)
So how does the swap work? Thanks to the swapping savvy of co-hosts The Swapaholics, it’s easy as 1-2-3.
1. Get your frugally priced ticket to the event at Goldstar: $5 if you bring something to swap, $10 if you come empty handed ($1 from each ticket is donated to charity). And ooh, there are a few VIP tickets available for $10 (plus $5 Goldstar fee). VIP ticket holders get a bag of goodies including a free movie pass, two $25 restaurant.com gift certificates and a copy of Free L.A., the only hip pocket travel guide to free fun in Los Angeles!
2. Drop off your stuff to swap between 10 a.m. – noon.
3. Come back by 1 p.m. to swap ’til you drop, or at least until the event ends at 3 p.m. VIP ticket holders go to the front of the line.
The NoHo PAC is located at 11020 Magnolia Blvd. All leftover items will be donated to Goodwill. Plus, a $1 from each ticket sold will be donated to charity.
