Free Lunar New Year Fest at Pacific Asia Museum Saturday Feb. 2!

Celebrate the Year of the Snake at the free Lunar New Year Festival at the Pacific Asia Museum in Pasadena, on Saturday, Feb. 2. The free fun starts at 11 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m.

The free family-friendly fest includes events, performances, crafts, demonstrations, and even admission to the museum galleries dedicated exclusively to the arts and culture of Asia and the Pacific Islands. Adult admission is ordinarily $10 so this is a great free deal! Consider taking the free docent tour of the museum at 1 p.m. (meet at the front desk).

The festival features a delegation of artists from Jiangsu, China including the incredible Xiao Hong Hua (Little Red Flowers) dance troupe. Other artists will demonstrate a variety of traditional art forms from China, including paper cutting, lantern making, sugar art, cloth art, Chinese knotting, and Suzhou silk art.

Hungry? L.A.-area food trucks will be there! No, the food isn’t free, but it’s definitely fun when you got choices such as Mighty Boba, India Jones, Mandoline Grill and Paradise Cookies.
