Free Admission to L.A.’s Natural History Museum Every Tuesday in September

Now that the summer visiting crush is over, the stunning Natural History Museum in Exposition Park has a FREE admission day — well, make that four free Tuesdays in September. That means no paying the piper on Sept. 3, 10, 17, 24. That’s a savings of $12 per adult admission!

You can visit the extraodinary renovated Dinosaur Hall with 300 real fossils and the only trio of different aged T. rex specimens in the world, all for free. Walk through the new 3.5-acre Nature Gardens then wander back inside to explore life at the new Nature Lab. What else does the museum offer?

The Museum of Contemporary Art Grand Avenue in Los Angeles has FREE Admission Thursday nights and this Sunday, Sept. 1, MOCA hosts a free family-friendly studio event.

MOCA is the place to be if you like your art noisy, electric, animated, controversial, and challenging. Displaying contemporary art from 1940-present, the museum contains 5,000+ works including abstract expressionism, pop art, minimalist, and post-minimalist art. And you can see it all for free 5 to 8 p.m. every Thursday night except major holidays.   ………….

Smithsonian Magazine created Museum Day as a way to share the spirit of the Smithsonian museums, which offer free admission every day. Through the magazine’s sponsorship, hundreds of museums across the U.S. are opening their doors for free to anyone who shows a Museum Day Live! ticket. Smithosonian Museum Day Live!It’s easy to get the Museum Day Live! ticket, which admits two people to one participating museum. First Sign Up Here for the free ticket. The ticket is emailed to you and then you print it out.

A pretty simple way of getting into one of LA’s top museums for FREE!

Thanks to the annualĀ Smithsonian Museum Day, Free Fun LA has something to look forward to every last Saturday in September! But it also means LA museum lovers have to make some tough choices — which Los Angeles-area museum to see for FREE!

Smithsonian Magazine created Museum Day as a way to share the spirit of the Smithsonian museums, which offer free admission every day. Through the magazine’s sponsorship, hundreds of museums across the U.S. are opening their doors for free to anyone who shows a Museum Day Ticket.
