Free Kids Admission at The Autry With Purchase at the Farmers’ Market

A sweet freebie for the month of February: Head to the weekly Saturday Farmers’ Market at The Autry and your kids can get free admission to the museum. Just make a purchase at the market that showcases the freshest fruits and veggies out west. Market is open 8 a.m.–1 p.m.

Parents need to check in at the Farmers’ Market booth to get the details and the discount. It’s a savings of $4 for children ages 2 – 12. Normal admission prices at the Autry for other visitors apply: $10 adults, $6 students w/ ID and seniors 60+.

Museum is always free for Autry members, active military, veterans, peace officers and children under 3.

Free Fun Tips: Parking is always free! During the Farmers’ Market there are free games like ping-pong and bocce ball on the lawn.

Feast on FREE in-person Farmer-Chef cooking demonstrations at the Santa Monica Farmer’s Market 30th Anniversary Celebration Kick-Off on Wednesday, Sept 14. Line up to get books signed by local farmer-chefs, including Amelia Saltzman, author of the Santa Monica Farmer’s Market Cookbook. The SaMo cookbook is a fave of Free Fun L.A.!

New Organic Farmer’s Market @ The Lakes Thousand Oaks Debuts July 22

If you find yourself with free time Friday morning, sample some locally grown organic fare at the new Farmer’s Market at The Lakes in Thousand Oaks. The new open-air market debuts Friday, July 22, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Admission is free, and like most Farmer’s markets there is sure to be some free samples of farm-raised fruits and veggies.

Open every Friday, the market features dozens of vendors including those offering dairy products, fresh-caught seafood, and fresh cut flowers.

Crack open a pistachio at Santa Barbara Pistachios, savor a strawberry at Finley Farm, or wonder at the tropical plants at Liquid Landscapes. Stop by Hayground Organic Gardening for unique organic seedlings of fruit and vegetable plants or pick up a fresh catch-of-the-day at Anjin II’s fish stall. Other vendors include Etheridge Farm, Spring Hill Cheese of Petaluma, Ace Ranch, McGrath Farm, Munak Ranch, and Tom Shepherd-Shepherd Salad.
